Who am I?

About Us - Family PictureHi, my name is Tara and I am a mum to 5 gorgeous boys. I am also the proud founder of an award winning sleepover party business. I want to teach you how to create your very own successful business too. Seeing other people being successful and enabling them to help their families is something that I really love and here is why.

Dreamee Teepees Slumber Parties

My boys and I run our sleepover business together (or at least that's what they tell me haha!). We all live together in Leeds, England which is also where we run our business from too. I work full time running Dreamee Teepees Slumber Parties and the boys help, in their own way, on evenings and weekends. We also have a number of ladies that work with us delivering and styling our parties.

Our business is multi award winning including a prestigious competition run by Theo Pathitis the well known BBC Dragon. My Business was also selected as one of the top 100 small businesses in 2018 by Small Business Saturday. Here is a picture of the moment the winners certificate was handed to me by Theo himself

Prior to running this sleepover business I was a primary school teacher. I absolutely loved my career but unfortunately I had to leave to take care of my sons.  I am proud to say that I have been consistently making more than my teachers wage for a long while now. Why am I telling you this?  Well, because I want to teach you how to do this too.

My life is too hectic to do this!

Trust me when I say that when I originally started this business it couldn't have come at a worse time in my life. My life was hectic, I spent more time at the hospital than I did at home

Our business, Dreamee Teepee Slumber Parties was born when my eldest son and I were looking for an unusual way for him to spend his 9th birthday. Together we came across the idea for sleepovers in Dens. At the time I was on maternity leave and due to return to my job as a primary school teacher.

I was frantically worrying about how I would manage my small boys, their hospital visits and a full-time job. You see, 3 of my 5 boys have a rare lifelong blood condition called haemophilia. This means that they can suffer with internal bleeding in their muscles and joints. One of those children has also been diagnosed with a rare heart condition which requires him to have constant care and regular medication. This means that we can have quite a lot of hospital visits to attend to.

I needed a job or business that would enable me to give the boys the attention they needed whilst also being able to pay the bills. Some people thought I was crazy, but I knew I had no other choice. So I took a leap of faith and decided to turn my sons birthday party idea into a business.

At the time we launched there was no one else providing these parties in Yorkshire, in fact we weren't aware of anyone else in the UK. Today I am so pleased to see such a thriving industry. However I also see so many people set up in business and struggle or fail!!

I want to use my experience of teaching to provide you with the coaching you need to be able to run a successful sleepover business like the one I am proud to own. I will provide you with the shortcuts to success that I wish had been available to me. Seeing other people being successful and enabling them to help their families is something that I really love.
